Yoga

The yoga experience at Knowle Grange is all about allowing your body to develop and stretch into the physical Asanas or positions only as far as you are able too. There is no pressure to try and enter into complicated positions. Yoga is the perfect complement to working out in the gym. Whereas we contract muscles in the gym, they are stretched and lengthened in yoga improving flexibility and posture.

You can choose either Hatha yoga, which is hugely relaxing- it is also very beneficial for clearing the mind and releasing stress. Alternatively try Ashtanga yoga which is suitable for those seeking a stronger practice.

Pilates

Just about anyone can do pilates-many of us have lower back issues. Pilates helps stabilise the lower back and improves posture, muscle balance, strength and flexibility. It strengthens the transabdominals and so can help flatten the stomach, whilst supporting and mobilising your spine.

Breathe new life into your workout with a session with one of our personal trainers. They charge £38 per hour - you can choose between just updating your workout or training with them regularly. The choice is yours and the investment is worthwhile.

Change your body shape with the new Energetic Pilates System

at Knowle Grange Health Spa in Frant

Pilates expert Gaby Valenti will be bringing her new Pilates system to Knowle Grange Health Spa in Frant from November 2011. Gaby’s Energetic Pilates System has been developed to work deeper than other pilates techniques.

Gaby was Royal Ballet and Rambert trained and had a successful 17 year career as a dancer prior to setting up her Pilates business.  Gaby has been a full time Pilates teacher for 8 years and has successfully developed Pilates beyond mat based exercises to integrate body sculpting and ballet floor bar workout on the mat. 

Knowle Grange owner Sue Hutchings said:  “Gaby’s new classes have been specifically designed to improve your body shape  as well as help alleviate backache and rebalance your body, sculpt and shape your waist, bum and upper arms. The exercises have been developed to take you in to a deeper sense of wellbeing.”

Pilates classes with Gaby will be available on Thursdays and at other times on request.  There will be a maximum of six in each class at a cost of £10 per person or create your own class of up to 4 people for £45 per hour divided between your group.  Classes are available to members and non members of Knowle Grange Health Spa.

A one to one 60 minute session with Gaby is £40 and combines pilates, kinesiology, healing and intuitive guidance.  The one to one sessions include a mat based Pilates routine, that develops as you do but also uses pressure point massage to help alleviate muscle tension.  This supports your exercise regime and makes the Pilates even more efficient in rebalancing the body.
